One of Wrexham’s most popular Christmas events will return to the town centre this December.
Wrexham Council have confirmed that the one day Victorian Christmas Market will take place Thursday 9 December midday-8pm.
It is the first time the event has taken place since 2019, after last year’s event was cancelled due the coronavirus pandemic and limits on social distancing and big events.
The event has grown in popularity and size in recent years, with 32,823 people attending the event in 2019 to take in the festive surroundings and enjoy the likes of mulled cider stalls, hot food, arts and crafts and Christmas gifts.
Having initially been confined to St Giles Parish Church and the grounds of the churchyard, the event will again extend throughout the town centre before finishing at Queens Square
Cllr Terry Evans, Lead Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said: “This event brings large numbers to the town centre so it’s a very welcomed return.”
Wrexham Council are working behind the scenes to make sure that the event will be safe, and just as successful as previous years.
