Lent this year is going to be very different in so many ways, but we are hoping and praying that, although we are beginning it in lockdown, we will be able by the end to celebrate Holy Week and Easter in church once again.
This year we will be following the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland Lent course called the Poet’s Gospel – a slightly unorthodox approach for an unorthodox Lent. Each session will feature a section of the Gospel story rewritten movingly by poet John Alan Davis, and read by him. There will then be a short piece of music for reflection, and then an opportunity for discussion. Full course details available on https://ctbi.org.uk/lent-study-2021/
Each session is on Wednesday at 6pm beginning on 24th February. For those who are not able to access Zoom, but who want to participate, if they get in touch with the Parish Office on 355808, we can facilitate this.

AN EIGHT-WEEK JOURNEY THROUGH THE LORD'S PRAYER
The Prayer Course is for anyone who wants to grow in their relationship with God. The eight sessions are designed to last for an hour each, and include video input, discussion and a practical prayer activity. As we meet together week-by-week, we'll grow and deepen our prayer life as individuals and as a community. We will be meeting over Zoom. Everyone is welcome to join folk from St James' and St John's on Monday evenings, 7.30 - 8.30 pm. We started the course on Monday 1 February, as its too long to fit into Lent.
